We intend to run CMP 4 in person, at 1800 Chem … and as a virtual event. We have the technology to run this show hybrid. There might even be some form of voting-via-your-phone in the in-person show (to keep the “killing ourselves running up and down those stairs” to an absolute minimum). In keeping with the shorter in-person runtime, we have a small handful of Sometimes Categories for CMP 4 that we plan on running 100% virtual, at a later date TBD.
As the UCON Primaries are our test bed, we intend to run this year’s UCON Primary (Saturday, October 8) as a hybrid show as well (with the consent of UCON, and pending good wireless connectivity from Eagle Crest, etc, etc). We will be testing the whole “hybrid CMP show” concept as well as perhaps also test-driving IRV (Instant Runoff Voting). In addition to the usual clip Primaries, there is a full-on 100% tie from CMP 3. We will be breaking that tie with the votes at UCON. There may also be additional surprises. It would be very helpful for us if people attended virtually, as well as in-person.
In the farther-out future, we look to expand to other in-person venues besides 1800 Chem. Chupa willing, and the cabra don’t rise.
